Notes:
Tuberous-rooted plant; stems 30-40 cm high, erect. Leaves almost flat apart from keel, to 4.5 cm wide. Bracts naviculate, 2.5-3 cm wide; back margins free. Perianth deep blue; lower petal larger than lateral two, c. 1.5 x 1.5 cm; lateral petals c. 1 x 1.2 cm, suborbicular. Stamens dark blue; filamants curving upwards distally. Staminodes with yellow anthers. Style dark blue, curving upwards, > stamens. Cultivated as Commelina tuberosa.
