Notes:
Corm c. 3 cm across (i.e. principal one), bright yellow inside. Leaves ± distichous. Inflor. stem c. 1 m high including inflor. Flowers secund. Sheaths outer to c. 8 cm long (lowest flowers), brownish-pink. Perianth 7-7.5 cm long, curving forward, orange-scarlet, paling to yellowish, especially on the 2 lower lobes of inner whorl and enclosed perianth tube. Perianth lobes not opening widely; lobes of outer whorl c. 4 x 3 cm, broad ovate, acute; 2 lobes of inner whorl much smaller (c. 2.5 cm long), basal lobe of inner whorl c. 3 x 2 cm, elliptic-ovate. Stamens = or > the 2 lobes of inner whorl. Styles with pinkish branches, just below anthers. A single spontaneous plant at this site but a few others elsewhere in garden. Apparently? the same clone as Sykes 412/99.
