Habitat:
Cultivated on bank with varying degree of exposure.
Notes:
Succulent herb with ± reddish, decumbent to spreading stems. Leaves to c. 4 x 1.5 cm, ± oblong to oblong-obovate, green, sometimes red-margined; marginal cilia acute, fleshy, retrorse. Inflor. to c. 6 cm across, red or greenish-red including bracts and narrow triangular sepals. Flowers foetid. Petals c. 7 mm long, with very short subterminal mucro, white, oblong-elliptic, tending obovate, forming a tube proximally, strongly recurved in distal half. Stamens c. 6mm long; anthers yellow to brown. Styles < stamens, pink after early anthesis. Scales yellow, almost square but emarginate apically. A vigorous palnt that has covered several square metres.
