In the "Cloud Forest" there, the raised area of these closely packed thousands of plants, has increased to perhaps 15 metres x 15 metres square, as they continually colonise the outer perimeters - even growingon the top of a 150 year old complete Kauri Stump that was logged. All under the wide all-over Canopy with patches of moving sunlight - 'the Picnic Green'. Surroundings are damp even in summer - not dry. There are some green mossy places. A small "swamp" in a depression, and an occasionally wet water-course passes on one side, ten metres away to west. The good soil they thrive in is dark, crumbly and deep. Roughly between 100 to 200 meteres to the South-west is the quite tall Waterfall of the Waiora stream - its top lower than the situation of these Libertia micrantha. Other small native tree types are scattered about among these plants. Habitat image available.
