In mixed kauri (Agathis australis) - monoao (Halocarpus kirkii) forest. Common. Corticolous on Coprosma rhamnoides shrubs growing as part of understorey.
Notes:
Thallus when fresh bright yellow-orange, perithecia conspicuous - dark black when fresh. Associated with Entergrapha subserialis (see AK 328106)
