Notes:
Dense clump-forming plant to 70 or 80 cm high with numerous slender stems arising from tubers. Leaves green & not very aromatic. Spikes with very few flowers to each vertical. Calyx > bracts, pilose on margins and veins. Corolla deep blue, c. 1.8 cm to apex of the broad spreading bi-lobed lower lip, this 10-12 mm wide; upper lip 5 mm long, cucullate and enveloping the 2 stamens, somewhat curving upwards; tube ventricose beneath. Stamens with blue connective spurs. Style pale blue, pubescent in upper half.
