Notes:
Stem short (plant young) with short internodes. Leaves with petioles to c. 40 cm long; apical pulveins c. 2.5 cm long; lamina to c. 27 x 16 cm, triangular-ovate, coriaceous, shining deep green above, paler beneath; sinus fairly wide and rounded. Peduncles > petioles and inflorescence held above leaves. Spathe c. 11 x 9 cm, broad ovate, crimson-scarlet, glossy subcoriaceous ± puckered above with raised veins, widespreading. Spadix ± erect at anthesis 8-8.5 cm long and c. 1 cm thick at anthesis, light orange-yellow. Immature fruit 6-7 mm long, obovoid, yellow. Certainly a cultivar of this species.
