Lophocolea Perianth terminal. mouth 3 lobed: base clothed with lamellae Lvs ovate quadrate oblique. 2 small teeth Stip 2 fid 2 toothed ea side, connate narrowly both sides Lf. bases dorsally connate & free Stems with perigonial lvs present.

Supplementary remarks:
Sent by Mrs Hodgson as No38 to Dr. Th. Herzog & described as L. multialata Herz. n.sp in Trans R.S.N.Z. Vol 65 1935 p.352. Herzog wrote:- "An extraordinary, interesting example which almost warrants the creation of a new genus." Mrs Hodgson reduced L. multialata to a synonym of L. biciliata (Tayl.) Mitt. in T.R.S.N.Z. Vol 80 pts 3&4 Feb 1953 p. 353.
