Notes:
Clump-forming perennial herb. Stems to c. 90 cm high. Lower leaves on inflor. stems and also basal non-flowering shoots ± ovate-cordate. Panicles diffuse and much-branched. Phyllaries tending spathulate, especially inner ones, purple-tipped. Rays 5-7 x c. 2 mm, narrow oblong-elliptic, tending oblanceolate, pale mauve. Disc pink-purple. Style and stigmas long exserted, whitish.
