Crack in footpath and in flower bed adjacent.
Notes:
Sprawling herb with stems rooting at nodes when lying on ground but with thick taproot as well on older plants; all above ground parts either reddish-purple (leaf laminas and calyx & bracts or pink (shoots and petioles & peduncles). Stipules adnate, moderately to greatly reduced, hairy. Petals yellow (no flowers at anthesis on specimen). Capsule purplish-tinged, minutely & densely retrorsely puberulent. A small patch. Such plants are usually called var. atropurpurea Planch. but have non O. corniculata feautres.
