Scrub on coastal slope, in developed area.
Notes:
Vine scrambling on shrubs. Stipules c. 1.5 cm long, including long aristate tip. Bracts c. 5 cm long, narrow ovate, undulate but not inflated. Hypanthium c. 11 cm long, narrowly cylindrical, glabrous. Perianth segments 3.7-4.1 cm long, ± narrow elliptic pink excepting greenish-white keel area of outer whorl, the latter whorl with aristate apiculus. Corona rim white segmented with purple base. Filaments pink. Stigmas green, the latter subequal to anthers. Fruit to c. 9.5 x 4 cm, oblong-obovoid, orange when ripe (± dark purple before maturity, at least on exposed side). Fleshy pulp orange, sweetish to taste. Seeds shining black. Generally local but common here.
