Habitat:
Small sloping flush on true right of main valley stream. Drained by small gutter. The flush dominated by Oreobolus pectinatus and fringed by a band of Chionochloa rubra subsp. cuprea. The surrounding tussock grassland is predominantly Chionochloa macra. Rytidosperma horrens grows on the drier margin of the flush, on the highest Oereobolus pectinatus cushions, and under the red tussock canopy.
Notes:
Type locality. Collected during a Department of Conservation funded contract to locate more populations of Rytidosperma horrens.
