Habitat:
Roadside tree belt, beneath high eucalypt canopy.
Notes:
Shrub to c. 3 m high, thicket-foming. Shoots 4-angled, whitish. Leaves bullate, green above, white tomentulose beneath. Flower spikes in panicles. Flowers with spicy fragrance. Calyx white tomentulose outside. Corolla white tomentulose outside; tube c. 6 mm x 1.5-2 mm diam., orange inside and thus throat orange; lobes c. 2 mm long, broad oblong or broad oblong-obovate. Stamens inserted near apex of tube; anthers not or scarcely exserted. Preseumably planted originally but spreading by layering slightly amongst gorse.
