Habitat:
Steep slope on Mt Herbert side, open pockets in gorse.
Notes:
Rosette-forming herb with fairly thick taproot. Leaves with simple straight hairs. Flowering stems ± erect. Phyllaries ± black tipped and hairs dark or colourless. Receptacle strongly areolate (i.e. with collar above the pit). Rays deep or golden yellow; longest c. 1.5 cm long. Achenes c. 3.5-4 mm long, very slender, dark brown, scabrid, long beaked. Abundant in open sites, often growing with Sykes 5/05 [CHR 605450] (Crepiscapillaris). Compare with CHR 201536 from nearby on Mt Herbert summit.
