Habitat:
Mixed forest with emergent kauri.
Notes:
Straggling shrub c. 2 m high. Leaves dark glossy green above, pale beneath. Flowers sweetly fragrant. Flowers with small pale green calyx. Corolla 2.5-3 cm long, tubular, somewhat ampliate, deep rosy-magenta, shining; lobes triangular-oblong. Common.
