Growing on schist boulders above stream in dripping wet seepages exposed to the sea (North facing).
Notes:
pieces picked off base of Blechnum durum (AK 295811).
Moss dark greenish-black to almost purple-black.
Nerve excurrent, rather broad, orange-red
Apex flat without obvious teeth, lamina dark-green, broad at base, abruptly narrowing.
