West-facing slope, scattered pines, and ± open beneath.
Notes:
Prostrate herb tending to form a loose mat. Leaves to c. 8.5 x 0.8 cm, light to deep green, straight or nearly so. Flowers 5-6 cm across, with 1.2-1.4 cm across the acutely angled receptacle apex. Sepals very unequal. Petals mainly 1.7-2.5 cm long, white or pale pink, shining. Stamens with whitish filaments and yellow anthers. Stigmas orange. 2 small colonies; largest one as described above; other one with rather larger white flowers and receptacles + short green stigmas (not collected).
