Habitat:
Spontaneous in open or partly open places in garden.
Notes:
Cormous herb, the corm outer fibres light brown. Leaves chanelled adaxially with whitish midrib. Sheaths whitish. Perianth tube to c. 20 cm long, white; lobes 5-6 x 1.5-2 cm, elliptic, light mauve, especially outside of outer whorl; base pale yellow; inner whorl subequal to outer whorl. Anthers 1.5-1.6 cm long, deep yellow. Upper style and stigmas orange; latter several times dichotomous. Plants appearing in different parts of garden, presumably resulting from gardening operations because plants do not seed.
