Supplementary remarks:
Erect herb to > 1 m high, perennial. Leaves dark green above; basal leaves not significantly different from cauline leaves. Corolla light purple and remaining this colour; petals c. 2 cm long, including thread-like claw 9-10 mm long; limb oblong-obovate, 7-8 mm wide. Silicles erect but not appressed to inflor. rachis, dark shining green, ± torulate.
