Notes:
Small slender-stemmed palm c. 1 m high (young) and with trunk c. 70 cm high. Leaves strongly arching, 70-80 cm long; petiole channelled above; rachis ± flattened; pinnae to 19 x 2-3 cm, lanceolate-acuminate, thin, deep green, shining beneath, reduplicate at insertion; terminal pair connate proximally, in 12-13 pairs. Inflor. interfoliar; peduncle c. 24 cm long; rachis c. 18 cm long or more, somewhat zigzag; bracts 3-4, sheathing peduncle. Spikes to 17 cm long; rachis angled; flower buds subglobose, 1.5-2 mm diam.; calyx cup-shaped. Stamens slightly inflexed in bud; pistillode prominent and slightly > stamens.
