Notes:
Herbaceous perennial dying down to ground level in winter. Leaves whitish-grey, woolly, opposite. Stems very short. Phyllaries in several series, all white floccose; outermost ones very small. Rays yellow, female?; limb c. 10 mm long, 5-toothed; claw c. 4 mm long, hairy outside. Disc florets bisexual. Style branches with 2 very long arms. Corolla of disc florets narrow tubular, shortly 5-lobed. Receptacle with several pink pointed scales (or very short awns) around florets. Pappus of 1 row of barbed bristles.
