Notes:
Naturalised along roadside and in bark garden near Department of Conservation Area Office Building. Plants reputedly stem from seed collected from near Roof Point. Specimens correspond to the diploid presumably naturalised race often called H. trionum in New Zealand but not that tetraploid, African species. I have yet to find plants of the particular race overseas - so this race may well be indigneous to New Zealand after all.
