Habitat:
Common in alpine flish - usually in better draining sites. Associated with Schoenus pauciflorus, Carex coriacea and dense sheets of Breutelia affinis and Bryum blandum un alpine flush.
Notes:
Leaves dull grey-green when fresh, strongly aromatic (smalling of citrus), margins densely lanate hairy; capitula dirty-white.
Associated at this site with Craspedia "Tararua".
