These plants were seen right near the start of the old Whangamomona Road (now used for tramping). Heavily grazed area. Rocky road cut area, road bank. Potentially limestone soil.

Notes:

2-3 m trees. Some small shrubs as well. Flowers/fruits present. Flowers bisexual, anthers awned. Petioles red. Axillary racemes (some very long, ~ 9 cm). Some terminal panicles as well.
