This plant was found on the trail back (in an area where there was a high overhanging section above the trail -- due to washout of the trail). Very fine soil. Pumice in the area.

Notes:
This is a putative hybrid between Gaultheria antipoda and Gaultheria macrostigma. ~ 15 cm or less. White berry, white fleshy calyx, lobes tipped pink. Solitary.
