Habitat:
Arboretum with open understorey, on shrubs and young trees.
Notes:
Vine forming a tangled mass on low shrubs. Leaves grey-green beneath, shining dark green above. Stipules with subulate dark purple points. Flowers ± declined. Bracts shining purplish-green or brownish-purple, divided to base. Hypanthium c. 5 cm long, light green. Perianth segments 4.6-4.8 cm long; sepals pale pink inside, with pale green central keel area outside. Petals elliptic, pink. Corona threads 1.7-2.2 cm long, deep blue. Anthers 1.2-1.3 cm long, vertically aligned. Style pale pink, > anthers; stigmas light green. Fruit (1 only nearly ripe) 5-5.5 cm across and 3-3.5 cm deep, depressed globose. A small patch only.
