Notes:
Herb with short, flattened, pinkish-red pseudostems to c. 12 cm long (plant young); petiole with distal 1.5 cm swollen and ± curved; lamina ± dull deep green above except for irregular pale grey-green bands and sometimes a very pale pink echlorophyllous area, usually this distal and narrow-banded along margins, sometimes more strongly echlorophyllous; lower surface deep dull reddish-purple, much paler in echlorophyllous areas. Sterile. Cult. as 'Tricolor'.
