Habitat:
Chionochloa pallens tussockland on steep hillslope, with Polystichum vestitum, Bulbinella hookeri, Phormium cookianum.
Notes:
Both parent species present in the area. Aciphylla squarrosa 5 m away and plentiful. No other Aciphylla species present on this range. One plant seen, not in flower. Sap clear. Plant with 4 rosettes, not at all glaucous, while Aciphylla squarrosa in this area is always glaucous.
