Notes:
Herb with rhizomes (not collected). Pseudostems to c. 80-90 cm high. Inflorescence terminal on pseudostem. Flowers distant on rachis fragrant. Outer bract remaining tightly folded around lower part of perianth tube; inner bract tightly folded around lower part of perianth tube < to > outer bract, pale translucent yellow. Perianth tube c. 8 cm long, very slender, similar colour. Perianth segments 1.8 - 2 cm long, narrow linear, pale greenish. Staminodes (2) c. 2 cm long, elliptic, white becoming yellow, somewhat concave. Stamen/style column c. 10 mm long, including anther c. 6 mm long, orange. Fruit trigonous, a cardamom.
