It is unusual in that it is yellow, the normal colour being white.I found 2 yellow plants among hundreds of the normal white.

Supplementary remarks:
I am aware of yellow Parsonsia heterophylla and have seen a plant in the Botanic gardens. According to Botanic Gardens staff the origin of this plant is unknown. I spoke to Hugh Wilson about this plant and he had not seen a yellow plant on Banks Peninsula either.
