Notes:
Shrub < 1 m high; stems 1-1.5 cm diam., with a few branches, semi-monocarpic. Leaf rosettes to c. 15 cm across with central leaves ± erect. Individual leaves to c. 11.5 x 3.5 cm, fairly thin, flat except for obtuse keel beneath green except distal margins tending reddish-brown; margins minutely ciliolate (unicellulate). Inflor. 15-20 cm across, hemisphaeric glabrous. Inflor. leaves caducous at anthesis, with small red dashes. Calyx lobes triangular-ovate, often slightly red-streaked. Petals 8-(9), each 8-9 mm long, triangular-lanceolate, uniformly pale yellow. Stamens pale yellow, in 2 unequal whorls. Styles pale yellow, later pale red. Glands 0.5-1 mm wide, translucent white. Originally cultivated on site, now spontaneous. This is a descendant of plants cult. as Aeonium valverdense by A.R. Arnold at Diamond Harbour; see CHR 494010.
