Habitat:
Collected from a cutover mixed forest dominated by red beech, kahikatea and kamahi on a low-level post-glacial outwash terrace with imperfectly drained soils (clay pan) of low to low-moderate fertility. Growing on an old logging road amongst dense bryophytes and other small herbs. The canopy overhead was light and partially open.
