Notes:
3/10/1981 - 9.00 am: Flower spathe opened.8.00 pm: Very strong odour. Temp 92.5°F spadix. 68°F air temp.8.15 pm: Red blobs appeared from cracks between the flowers on the central section of the spadix.8.20 pm: Both below and above this mid area swelling took place, but not in the central area.8.22 pm: White (like snowflakes) appeared from cracks in the upper part of the spadix. Wiped them off and they reappeared.8.30 pm: White can be blown off spadix. Temp in red area dropped to 86°F.8.45pm: Temp white 72°F. Red 79.5°F. Bottom 77°F.8.50 pm: First red blobs in top section.9.00 pm: Strong smell decreased (only noticable by the flower). Temp white 79.5°F, red 82°F, bottom. Much red above and below the centre.9.30 pm: More swelling of spadix and growth. 12 mm above spathe.9.45 pm: Temp still 82°F in red zone10.30 pm: Spathe ¾ close up. Red areas all over the spadix. Temp same as external temp.11.00 pm: Spathe nearly totally closed over spadix, only the extended tip is showing. The flowers shape (hexagonal). Many were divided up but not all the same. Most were in 4 [see diagram on sheet]. Some in 3 [see diagram on sheet] top flowers had no divisions (top 8 mm). This remained like this till the 5/11/1981 when yellowing started of the spathe. 9/11/1981: Rotting occurred on the spathe.
