Habitat:
Growing mostly under mixed black beech/podocarp forest, usually associated with damp hollows. Also growing in a clearing with Carex virgata.
Notes:
Impressive forest remnant with rimu, matai, lowland totara, kahikatea and black beech. Abundant matai seedlings, pokaka common.
