Habitat:
It occupies the predominately bare silt surfaces disturbed by frost heave that occur between the clumps of bog pine.
Notes:
Few other plants exist on these sites - occasional mouse ear hawkweed, Poa maniototo, Agrostis muscosa, but mainly bare silt. Leptinella 'Clutha' is probably the most common plant on these surfaces - there would be a population of many thousands overall.
