Notes:
Wide sprawling herb with ± decumbent dark red or greenish stems, annual, not aromatic. Calyx with 6-8 transverse ribs on each of the 5 faces, 3-4 on each side of the raised midrib. Corolla 8-10 mm long; petal claws 5-6 mm long, narrow, white; limb of petals 3-4 mm long, pink, elliptic. Anthers & pollen yellow. Stigmas pinkish-orange. Mericarps 2.2-2.5 mm long, grey-brown, ridged and alveolate-rugose, minutely glandular-hairy on distal ridges and ventral face, otherwise glabrous. Seeds smooth. A few plants only at base of cultivated shrub. An accidental import in 1996-1997 from "Plant World Seeds", Newton Abbot, Devon, and has spontaneously grown freely ever since.
