Habitat:
Under willows, Coprosma, (planted natives), blackberry, Blechnum minus.
Notes:
Locally plentiful. Populations have been on this site for as long as I can remember. [Dissected on card]: 1 plant, the most advanced. Others as large or larger, or smaller to come. This plants flower stem 57 x 1.0 cm. 57 flowers. 6-8 aborted or small. Stigma greenish. Rhizome large at base 12 x 3.5 cm. Sl. sweetish potato taste - watery, crisp creamy brown. Flowers (Perianth) gold, suffused with greenish brown areas with gold knobs or mottles gold most noticable dorsally. Faint perfume (stronger in other plants), petals creamy white. Column creamy white, anther pale gold. Labellum creamy white with orange ridges and basal callus. Ovary short, greenish, pale brown septa - knobs.
