Habitat:
The site is very open, full sun and exposed to strong N.W. and Southerly winds however there are no obvious indications that this is having an adverse effect on the growth habit of these trees.
Notes:
Plant Register ID: 2005/067The stand is very dense with the trees having slender trunks growing to a height of 2-4 metres. The trees appear to be spreading via rhizomes and extend from the bank well out into deeper water. A survey of the immediate area produced no additional sightings so perhaps it is less inclined to spread via seed dispersal. Trees identified as a type of Melalecua which have become a problem in waterways overseas.
