Supplementary remarks:
Tuberous scandent plant. Leaves deep shining green; lamina to 17 x 7 cm. Peduncles to c. 16 cm long, these & pedicels dark shining brownish forming a compound umbel. Flowers somewhat pendulous; umbels very large & diffuse (as compared to B. caldasii). Outer perianth segments c. 2.5 cm long, ± oblanceolate, deep rose with green apical spot. Inner perianth segments 2.8-3 cm long, spathulate; rose outside; limb pale yellowish & heavily dark purple-spotted. Stamens and style c. = outer perianth segments; style slightly > stamens. Capsules c. 2 x 2 cm, very broad obovoid, grooved.
