Notes:
Erect annual herb with shining pinkish-brown stems; nodes ± white pilose. Leaves subterete, ± flattened above. Stem apices with white woolly hair tufts around flowers. Sepals c. 8 mm long, broad triangular. Petals rose-pink c. 2 - 2.3 x 1.7 - 2 cm, broad obovate, bilobed. Filaments dark red. Style > stamens, orange; stigmas reflexing. Seeds metallic grey with very small tubercles.
