Notes:
Succulent shrub with short terete lower main stem, otherwise stems (cladodes) flat except for raised midrib and to c. 6 cm wide, glabrous except for margin groups of areolar bristles, these ± covering the whole surface in young stems; margins thin. Flowers very fragrant nocturnally, lasting several days. Sepals to 9 - 10 cm long; i.e. inner ones, c. 1 cm wide, pale green or pink-tinged, linear. Corolla "tube" 13 - 14 cm long, pale green, with soft forward curving spines; 9 - 10 x 2.5 - 3 cm, elliptic-oblanceolate, white; limb 12 - 14 cm across at anthesis. Style 8 - 9 cm long, white, = longest stamens; stigmas c. 1 cm long, white.
