Habitat:
On clay bank, planted (?) among Jasminum mesneyi, Metrosideros excelsa, Pittosporum crassifolium.
Notes:
Shrub 4 m dark grey smooth bark; markedly weeping form. Leaves dull above, veins slighted impressed: underside of midrib glabrous but rest of underside tomentose. Fruits (not present now, but on my #4073 in NZFRI) globose, scarlet (not obovoid or orange as in C. franchetii)I suspect this taxon is wild in the area but haven't found any for sure!
