Notes:
Tree with a strongly weeping habit, branchlets glabrous and yellow-brown (Not golden). Catkins either male, female or hermaphrodite. ♀ ovaries appear to be glabrous although subtending scale and rachis are hairy. Ovaries elongate and 'flask' shaped. Ovary appears to be sessile or sub-sessile. The subtending scale is shorter than the ovary and shows a shortly acuminate tip. These characteristics suggest S. × pendulina var. pendulina rather than var × blanda. All the collected material was from the 2nd tree downstream from the toilet block adjacent to Greers Rd and Hewlings Stream.
