Notes:
Stems - length 2' to inflorescences; Leaves length 3'; Panicle 26' narrow; Branches 10, slender erect; Bracts Broad. dark at base, paler - narrow above. Spikelets - small just branching. 1/6 - 1/4". shortly pedicelled 1♂, 1♀ fl. Glumes 6. lowest 3 very acute. narrowly tapered [see diagram] as long as spikelet, upper 3 still acute but not as subulate and more concave. Outer 3 empty, and with ♂ fl. next 2 surrounding ♂ fl. Stamens 4. Nuts now 1/6" immature pale with longitudinal ribs & dark tip. Nearest G. [Gahnia] rigida. differing from G. setifolia. In glumes being almost equal, almost awned.
