The type ( fide. the protologue) is E.A. Hodgson 4192, but the protologue lists 3 collections (1611, 4192, and 4199) by E.A. Hodgson, and one by E.A.Hodgson and H.M. Druce (1637) from this locality.
The Allison packet does not enclose a Hodgson packet, so no Hodgson number is evident, but does have a piece of what may be a letter stating "Did I tell you that in Jan. Helen & I were at Otupae again & I made 2 interesting finds - the Chiloscyphus Lophocolea metioned int he Chilo paper, and Radula Allisonii, in very small quantity, but unmistakeably it!"
Type:
Possible isotype of Lophocolea innovata E.A.Hodgs., Trans. Roy. Soc. New Zealand 80: 347 (1953).
