Piece fallen from a single tree said to be at the natural southern limit of the species on the West Coast of New Zealand. No other kauri present. Foliage covered in silt and mud from former logging road located c. 20m from tree. Growing amongst tanekaha, rimu, Kamahi and Quintinia.
