Notes:
Occasional plants (mostly seedlings) growing in patches in rough grass and beneath barberry hedge above road. Flower ray florets dark pink, central florets forming a stout "cone" this coloured dark red-brown. Leaves very dark green above with maroon petioles and maroon-tinged leaf undersides. Roots very deep and wiry - making extraction of whole plants by hand very difficult.
