Notes:
Uncommon - found sparingly on plateau (especially in Lepidosperma filiforme/Schoenus sedgeland) where it is found growing in syntopically with Leptospermum aff. scoparium plants represented by AK 319498.This is the widespread variety (species) on podzol and shallow clay soils throughout Te Aupouri and as a rule it is scarce off those soils. At North Cape forming erect shrubs up to 2 m tall, leaves linear-lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, hairy - hairs sufficiently dense to impart a greyish hue to live plants. Flowers dark pink to pinkish-white, 10-15 mm diameter (at time of collection most plants had finished flowering). Capsules rather large. This is the third Leptospermum present within the serpentinised zone of North Cape (see also AK 319494 & AK 319498).
