Notes:
Probable first naturalisation for New Zealand of this commonly planted tree. One sapling 2 × 1 m protruding through dense manuka/Gahnia dominated gumland scrub - in site that had been burned 15 or so years ago. This plant was not present here in 1999/2000 when P.J. de Lange surveyed this area. Specimen appears to have established from wind blown seed - tree 30m up and east of the slope have capsules with apparently viable seed in them. Specimen not planted according to Waitakere City Council and R.O. Gardner who has weeded this site for the last five or so years. DUPLICATE TO: CHR
