Notes:
Locally abundant along north side of stream. Growing in a cattle trashed Matai (Prumnopitys taxifolia)/Totara (Podocarpus totara var. totara) with kowhai (Sophora godleyi) riparian forest remnant overlying calcareous siltstone. Plants found mostly under Olearia gardneri, Myrsine divaricata, Coprosma rubra and C. virescens. Always found trailing through groundcover of Pellaea rotundifolia, Poa matthewsii and P. imbecilla. Stems, leaf sheaths and leaves glabrous; nodes dark brown to brownish black; ligule lacerate or erose, panicles varying from contracted to open; lemma distinctly scabridulous (densely to sparsely covered in priclke-teeth) surface otherwise covered in glandular-sticky (often ruptured) papillae.
